Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce for Penne
A rrabbiata means “angry” in Italian—and this sauce brings the heat in the best way. Loaded with garlic, chili flakes, and rich tomatoes, it clings beautifully to penne for a punchy pasta dish you’ll crave again and again.
Ingredients:
- 250g VUGVUGI penne pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 1–2 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to your heat preference)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:
- Cook the penne pasta until al dente.
- Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté garlic until golden, and then add chili flakes.
- Add crushed tomatoes and oregano, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Toss the cooked penne in the spicy sauce.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
